The DesertX Discovery is an adventure tourer which is positioned between the regular DesertX and DesertX Rally in Ducati India’s portfolio
Ducati India has launched the DesertX Discovery at a sticker price of Rs 21.78 lakh (ex-showroom, India) in the country. Presented in a Black and Ducati Red Livery, the adventure tourer will be available with an array of accessories. Ducati DesertX Discovery will be available across all the company authorized dealerships from today while deliveries are expected to start shortly. It has been slotted between the standard DesertX and DesertX Rally in the brand’s rich portfolio in the Indian market.
The DesertX Discovery comes with multiple off-road specific elements such as reinforced knuckle guards, engine guard with extra layer of protection for water pump, radiator grille, and sump guard. Furthermore, it gets a massive windscreen, centre stand and heated grips as standard features.
The riders also have the convenience of turn-by-turn navigation through the Ducati Link app on the 5-inch TFT instrument console. Sitting on a steel trellis frame, it is suspended by fully adjustable 46 mm USD forks upfront while there is a KYB-sourced fully monoshock unit at the rear.
The DesertX Discovery rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. The stopping power is provided by 320 mm twin disc brakes at front and a 265 mm single disc unit at rear. It gets a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control and wheelie control as standard features.
Mechanically, it draws power from a 937 cc liquid cooled petrol engine which belts out 108 bhp at 9250 rpm and peak torque of 92 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission while there are a total five riding modes available, out of which three are for road use and remaining two for pure off-roading. It has a fuel tank capacity of 21 litres.
