The Desert X Discovery is positioned between Desert X Rally and standard Desert X in Ducati’s portfolio in India
Ducati had recently announced to launch 14 new motorcycles this year in the Indian market. The 14 products include 9 new bikes and five special edition models of the existing motorcycles. Now, it appears as if the brand is all set to introduce the first offering of 2025 in India in the form of Desert X Discovery. It recently teased the aforementioned bike on its official Instagram handle with a caption which reads, “Time to dream wilder & discover”. Ducati Desert X Discovery is expected to be priced above Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) upon its launch.
First things first, Ducati Desert X Discovery is a proper ADV bike meant for off-roading purposes. Flaunting a dual-tone red and black colour scheme, it gets a bigger touring windshield. The bike also comes with a centre stand as standard fitment. Other notable elements gracing the Desert X Discovery are heated grips, engine protection cover and knuckle guards.
It boasts of a 5-inch TFT instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation feature through the Ducati Link app. The Desert X Discovery has a saddle height of 874 mm which can be increased or decreased with the help of accessory add-ons. It has a fuel tank capacity of 21 litres. Ducati has offered a total of five ride modes, out of which two are specifically for off-roading.
The Desert X Discovery is positioned between Desert X Rally and standard Desert X in Ducati’s portfolio. Sitting on a tubular steel trellis frame, it is suspended by 46mm fully adjustable KYB-sourced inverted telescopic front forks and a fully adjustable KYB mono-shock at the rear. The braking duties are carried out by dual 320mm discs at front and 265mm disc unit at rear along with a Bosch cornering ABS.
Riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, it is presented with tubeless Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres. The Desert X Discovery has a ground clearance of 250 mm while it tips the scale at 210 kg. Mechanically, it will be equipped with a 937 cc liquid-cooled L-twin engine which develops top power of 108 bhp at 9250 rpm and peak torque of 92 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission.
Ducati Desert X Discovery will rival BMW R 1300 GS Adventure and Triumph Tiger 1200 in the Indian market.
