Currently, Revolt Motors is the country’s highest-selling electric motorcycle brand. However, it too couldn’t breach the 10,000 units sales milestone in 2024 as it had to stay content with 9,955 units last year, revealed the data available on the Vahan portal. Besides RE, Honda is also expected to foray into the electric motorcycle segment next year in the Indian market.

Royal Enfield used to have a motorcycle with the ‘Flying Flea’ moniker in the 1940s which was purpose-built for WWII. During the war, the motorcycle was airdropped via parachutes to provide lightweight, easy-to-use all-terrain mobility for soldiers. Later, it was also used by civilians for city purposes. Now, the Flying Flea nameplate is making a return after 80 years in an all-electric avatar.
