Now that the electric 2-wheeler market is a fairly reasonable size, and growing, legacy makers are paying special attention. They may be facing strong competition from new start-ups like Ola and Ather, but with the widespread dealership muscle power and brand recognition, they are doing well combined.
Bajaj has its Chetak electric scooter in this domain. It has been branching out different variants at different price points to suit various buyers. In a latest, the company has announced another trim which is called as Chetak 3201. This follows the entry variant Chetak 2901 (very confusing names…!).
With the 3201, Bajaj is trying something different. The scoot has been introduced as an online-only model for now – exclusively at Amazon. This is applicable for this month of August before which Bajaj will likely make it available across its dealerships and other platforms.
The Chetak 3201 is based on the company’s Premium trim and gets the same bigger 3.2 KWH battery which has an ARAI certified range of 136 km. The total charging time claimed by Bajaj is 5 hours and 30 minutes. It has a top speed of 73 kph like the other variants (except Chetak 2901 which can do a claimed 63 kph).
The standard variant is offered with one single ride mode ECO whereas with the TecPac you can have two ride modes – ECO and Sports.

At this price tag the 3201 is slightly costlier than the Chetak Urbane but significantly cheaper than the 2024 Premium version.
It is being offered in one single Brooklyn Black shade with some premium touches like tone-on-tone embossed decals and dual tone quilted seat. The standard trim has Monochrome TFT display whereas with TecPac you can have colored TFT instrument cluster with full app connectivity which includes turn-by-turn navigation. The metallic scooter is rated IP67 which makes it rain proof.
