As per a report on Autocar India, Kawasaki is going to finally launch the Z250 and ER-6n on October 16, announcing war with the newcomers Bennelli, who will be putting up their show a day after. While the Italians would have a twin and a four cylinder heart, the Japanese plan to woo us with parallel twins.

The Z250, follows the design philosophy of the Z800 and is a street focused bike which takes the Ninjas’s DNA. The 249cc mill is the same as the Ninja 250R we had in our market, albeit with a few betterments. It is made of sleeveless die cast aluminium cylinders and produces 31.54PS of power and 21.56Nm of torque and with looks aping that of a crouching tiger, this surely will be a classy addition to the quarter litre machines available in India.

We have absolutely loved the Ninja 250R and sharing a lot of mechanicals, we are sure the Z250 will be scorcher as well, with a smooth torque delivery in low and mid revs and some hefty acceleration at higher rpms. The diamond frame chassis with its rigid structure and flexible suspension setup should help in some amazing performance and excellent ride quality. It also comes with a wide set handlebar layout, 140 section rear tyre and single petal discs upfront and at the rear.

The ER-6n is a bigger hearted beast which gets the 649 cc parallel twin mill which produces 72.1 PS of power and 64Nm of torque, the same found on the Ninja 650. It gets huge 160 section rear tyre and dual semi floating petals at the front and mono at the rear. It comes comes with a light weight double pipe frame and new Swingarm and gets ABS as optional. ER-6n also comes with an Economical Riding Indicator.

The Z250 will become Kawasaki’s most affordable motorcycle in India..we are eager to know by how much 😉
