BMW BMW G 310 RR special edition will be limited to 310 units as it marks the end of production for the bike in the Indian market.

BMW Motorrad India has been teasing a special edition of the G 310 RR for the last few days in the country. The latest teaser on the brand’s official Instagram handle states that the BMW G 310 RR special edition will be limited to 310 units. Recently, the German company had reduced the price of the standard version of the G 310 RR by Rs 24,000 due to the introduction of GST 2.0 in the Indian market. The new price of Rs 2.81 lakh (ex-showroom) will be applicable from Sep 22 while the special edition is assumed to be priced a bit higher than the regular model.

BMW G 310 RR, developed in partnership with TVS Motor Company and based on the Apache RR 310, could be phased out of the Indian market post the launch of the special edition model. The company has already discontinued its two entry-level motorcycles G 310 R and G 310 GS in India. Hence, it seems apparent that the G 310 RR will follow the same suit, ahead of the arrival of the F 450 GS.

The 2025 TVS Apache RR 310 was launched a few weeks back with new features in the form of Sequential Turn Signal Lamps (TSL), Cornering Drag Torque Control, Launch Control, Gen-2 Race Computer with Multi Language Support and 8-Spoke Alloy Wheels. It also received a new Sepang Blue Race Replica colour scheme. BMW G 310 RR special edition is likely to get all these features.

The BMW F 450 GS concept was first showcased at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. Since then, it has been spotted multiple times wearing camouflage around the TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The production-ready G 450 GS is likely to break cover at the EICMA 2025 in Nov while it could make its first public appearance in India at the 2025 TVS MotoSoul in December.

TVS MD Sudarshan Venu has already confirmed that TVS and Norton will use the F 450 GS platform and develop their motorcycles based on it. In fact, the F 450 GS will be locally developed at TVS factory, identical to the G 310 RR, G 310 GS and G 310 R. Despite the localisation, these bikes are expected to be quite expensive due to the 2025 GST reforms, where bikes with engine capacity above 350cc are taxed at 40 percent from the earlier 28 percent.

BMW F 450 GS will directly lock horns with Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure and CFMoto 450 MT in the Indian market. Riding on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, it will be powered by a 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine with max power of 48 bhp and peak torque of 45 Nm while linked to a 6-speed gearbox.
