BMW F 450 GS Clear Images Emerge Ahead of Launch

The test mule captured on lens seems to be production-ready and we could see BMW F 450 GS on the Indian roads in the next few months.

BMW F 450 GS concept had its world premiere at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. The all-new ADV bike also had its public premiere in the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. A few days back, a heavily camouflaged test unit of the motorcycle was spotted near TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Now, fresh spy images of the F 450 GS in production-ready form have emerged on the web which suggest that it is ready for a market launch. For those asking, BMW F 450 GS will replace the recently phased out G 310 GS as the brand’s entry-level adventure motorcycle in India.

As per the spy-shots available, it flaunts a new headlamp design with X-shaped LED DRL which is highly inspired from the bigger 1300 GS in BMW’s portfolio. However, unlike single light seen on the 1300 GS, the F 450 GS boasts of a stacked LED lighting system. The spied test unit also seems to be carrying a lot of accessories such as a bash plate, knuckle guards and top box for luggage. The same luggage rack was seen on the units captured near TVS factory in India.

The test mule appears to be riding on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, which are shod with dual-purpose road-based tyres. The possibility of spoke wheels being offered as an option cannot be ruled out either. The overall profile of the ADV motorcycle is quite slim and it is likely to be a rather lightweight model at least in its segment due to the single disc unit at front.

The F 450 GS captured on camera features a tall windscreen, which was also seen on the test units spied near TVS production facility in Hosur. Hence, it is almost confirmed that the ADV bike will get a big windshield as standard fitment, contrary to earlier reports that claimed it to be an after-market accessory. Some of the notable bells and whistles onboard the motorcycle could be slipper clutch, quickshifter and dual-channel ABS.

Mechanically, it will debut BMW’s all-new twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine with power output around 48 bhp. This engine could be linked to a 6-speed transmission. Sitting on a steel bridge trellis frame, it is expected to have a bolt-on sub-frame. The ADV bike will rival the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, CFMoto 450 MT and Honda NX500 in the Indian market.

The concept version tipped the scale at 175 kg. However, the production version is likely to be heavier due to the inclusion of multiple cycle parts and hardware. The fuel tank capacity will remain the same at 14 litres. BMW F 450 GS price could start around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
