In a surprise email which spoiled my plan of taking a mid-afternoon siesta,Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has asked us to block our dates for Thursday, December 18, 2014. While they have not given any clear indication as to what the event is about, in all probability Honda will be launching the CB Unicorn 160. The company had announced back in July that they will be launching a new 160 cc motorcycle around September. The launch though got delayed because of some unavoidable (and untold) reasons.
The first ever spy shots of the motorcycle came last month which did give us quite a clear idea on how the new motorcycle will look like, but how it performs will, of course, be determined only once we get to ride it. The bike has the low demeanour, in terms of design, as that of the Unicorn, but where it can score above the others would be its fuel efficiency and high levels of refinement usually associated with Hondas.
The company is also supposed to bring the CBR 250R replacement, the new CBR 300R, and the four-cylinder CBR650F too, but we are not expecting to see either of these getting launched on the 18th. On the other hand, the Unicorn 160 was snapped recently, possibly at its television commercial shoot. That has fuelled even more speculations of the bike launching very soon…
