Yes, the price has been mentioned right. This bike costs Rs. 1.6 crores. Although, most of us don’t have such capital to own this bike, but that doesn’t resist us from talking and getting awe-inspired about it. The bike, named Iconoclast, is a very special piece of exquisite motorcycle manufactured by Ecosse Moto Works, based in US. History behind this bike goes that, several years ago, a road racer cum engineer named Donald Atchison had a desire to build his own idea of a super street bike. He opened Iconoclast Motorcycles in Denver and got sidetracked selling other people’s motorcycles. After being frustrated with manufacturers and importers, he once again set out to build his bike and this time he hit the sweet spot.
This lead to the formation of Ecosse Moto Works Inc in 2001 with an objective in mind; to design and sell premier luxury marque of distinctive, limited-production motorcycles created for discerning enthusiasts. According to Ecosse Moto Works, all the bikes developed by them will have the same underlying theme: a synergistic combination of innovation, craftsmanship and technology with a nod to the company’s racing influence. Currently the company manufactures models like the Heretic, the Iconoclast and the Titanium. The Iconoclast is one such motorcycle, that combines a highly engineered chassis, massive torque, sleek lines, exquisite attention to detail and race bred components.
It is powered by a 2 litre engine that is machined completely out of solid aluminum block that churns out 135 BHP of raw power and 190 NM of torque. The company claims, the bike can do a 0 to 60 mph dash in just 2.8 seconds. The crankshaft is dynamically balanced for lower vibration and CNC ported heads are hand massaged for maximum flow. It has been fitted with special custom racing exhaust machined from solid with ECOSSE logo machined on mufflers. An exhaust duplexer located in the exhaust pipe for maximum torque.
Suspension at the front and the back are Custom Ohlins, fully adjustable forks and rear shock. The rear shock mount is adjustable to accommodate different riding modes: dragster, cruiser or road racer positions. Each setup alters the ground clearance, seat height and performance levels of the bike. For front and rear braking, you get an ISR radial brake system which gets dual 6-piston front brakes with 12 individual brake pads for maximum grip. The amount of brake force can also be adjusted via an adjuster dial. Only 11 such pieces have been made so far and that makes this combination of art and science all the more exclusive!
