Pulsar NS400 sales are pretty impressive for its price bracket, however, are they coming at the expense of the smaller sibling NS200?
It appears Bajaj has pleasantly surprised bikers with its biggest Pulsar NS400. Not that the motorcycle looks a lot different from other Pulsars but the extreme value preposition that it brings to the table has caught everybody’s fancy. It is the most affordable near 400cc 40 PS machine you can buy in India.
And Bajaj must be very thankful that the interest in the product is resulting in eventual sales. Bajaj began dispatching its most affordable biggest naked in May but they were handful of units – 32 to be precise. Actual wholesales commenced from June which means we have completed two months of official factory dispatches. Here are the numbers…
Pulsar NS400 Sales
Month | Sales |
June 2024 | 2515 units |
July 2024 | 3340 units |
So, Bajaj has amassed total wholesales of 5887 units in roughly two months of its existence. This is a pretty good start for a motorcycle that costs around Rs 2 Lakh. For reference, the biggest Pulsar beat sibling Triumph 400s in the month of July by over 200 units.
Among rival brands, Mavrick 440 from Hero was nowhere close and neither was the Harley’s X440. With close to 1500 unit sales Royal Enfield’s latest Guerrilla 450 was less than half of Pulsar’s numbers.
With the festive season approaching, Bajaj would be hopeful of even better numbers of the Streetfighter but what remains to be seen is whether the NS400 is bringing new buyers into Bajaj’s fold or is it simply upgrading motorcyclists who were considering the NS200 till now. This may never unearth as the company does not reveal individual numbers of the NS200 – it clubs it with other Pulsars between the 151-200cc segment and shares them.

And while we are at it, we have a sneak that there may be another surprise from Bajaj on the NS400 in the coming months. Stay tuned…
