Benelli TRK 502 – in Pics

Benelli TRK 502 pics and quick preview…

TRK 502 is not a new motorcycle for us. Benelli’s older partner DSK showcased it at the 2016 Auto Expo promising a launch sometime later. However, soon they went bankrupt and Benelli had to scout for another local partner.
TRK 502 has been launched in two versions – this is the standard 502 and comes with a 20 liter fuel tank, 190 mm ground clearance and a lot of oomph…
This is the more off-road focused TRK 502X with a higher 230 mm ground clearance, 19-17 inch knobby tyres and an extended and raised exhaust canister…
This X uses spoke wheels and both the tyres are Metzeler branded along with twin 320 mm floating disc brakes at the front and a single 260 mm rotor at the rear. The standard version comes with road going Pirelli tyres – both 17 inchers!
A new 500cc DOHC, inline twin cylinder, fuel injected 8-valve engine powers the motorcycles. It produces 47.5 PS of peak power at 8500 rpm and 46 Nm of max torque 6000 rpm. Front suspension duties are performed by 50 mm broad upside down forks…

Benelli is offering the TRK range in three colours – Red, white and Graphite Grey. Good that they haven’t used some overtly fancy names for these shades like many others do (Kawasaki has a colour called as Candy Steel Furnace Orange 😀 ). This pic showcases a kitted TRK 502X as well with saddlebags and panniers.

The standard 502 is priced at 5 Lakhs whereas the 502X costs 40,000 extra. This pricing makes the duo the most affordable mid-size ADVs in India undercutting rivals like Superdual, Versys 650, VStrom 650 etc.
