The cheapest Italian motorcycle (Chinese owned) in India, the Benelli TNT 302 has been finally launched and it gets a price tag of Rs 2,83,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which will ensure it will cost you over 3 lakhs on road everywhere.
Packing an in-line two cylinder the 300 cc DOHC, water cooled, 8 valve engine is capable of producing 38.26 bhp of maximum power at 11,500 rpm and 26.5 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. And you will need every ounce of that to move this beast as it weighs 196 kg (wet)!
The engine is mated to a six speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike is 2,130 mm long, 800 mm wide and measures 1,120 mm in terms of overall height. The ground clearance though is a respectable 160 mm.
Very few motorcycles of this class are fitted with beautiful dual petal disc plates at the front and the TNT 302 is one of them. Tyre options too include different sets:
- Pirellis: 120/70 ZR 17 58 W in front and 160/60 ZR 17 69 W
- MRFs: 110/70 ZR 17 54 S in front and 150/60 ZR 17 66 S
Obviously the price for the TNT 302 with Pirellis will be slightly higher.
The bike has a 16 litre fuel tank and the motorcycle is available in the following three color options:
- Rosso (Red)
- Verde (Green)
- Nero (Black)
Kawasaki Z250 has competition now and there will be a few who will weigh it against the Duke 390 as well.
