Bajaj Records its Highest Ever April Sales

For the month of April 2011, Bajaj Auto, the country’s second largest two wheeler maker has sold 322,23 units of motorcycles against 276,09 in the same month, the previous year. This is the second highest ever motorcycle sales. This accounts for a 17% growth rate.

Remember the last month sales in motorcycle segment was 274,38 units with just two brands – Pulsar and Discover ate 71% of the total sales done. The much talked about – Discover 125 was launched last month as well. April 2011 saw no new launches from Bajaj.

But, Bajaj is reported to be working on a whole new bike based on a new platform, leading for its new bikes to be sound in technological aspects. We also heard that the company is planning to re-launch the discontinued BOXER model with an all new 125cc engine. Probably, this is done to concentrate on the mass market, where more companies are planning to enter and mark their presence as well.
