Bajaj Chetak C25 is the latest entrant in the entry-level mass-market electric scooter segment which already has the likes of TVS Orbiter and Vida VX2
Bajaj Auto recently launched the Chetak C25, its most affordable electric scooter, in the Indian market. It is the entry-level e-scooter in Bajaj’s portfolio while positioned below the 35 and 30 Series of the Chetak in the country. Bajaj Chetak C25 directly rivals TVS Orbiter EV in India. Both are the mass-market models aimed at the larger chunk of population in the budget-friendly segment of below Rs 1 lakh. We bring to you a detailed comparison between Bajaj Chetak C25 and TVS Orbiter with respect to their price, features and technical specs.
Bajaj Chetak C25 vs TVS Orbiter: Price
Bajaj Chetak C25 is introduced at a price point of Rs 91,399 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. It is positioned below the Chetak 3001 which comes at a price of Rs 99,990 (ex-showroom). On the other hand, TVS Orbiter is priced at Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in the domestic market in India. Hence, it is pretty evident that the Chetak C25 is nearly Rs 8k-9k less expensive than the Orbiter EV and this goes in its favour.

Bajaj Chetak C25 vs TVS Orbiter: Features
The Chetak C25 comes with ordinary features as it is an entry-level model. Some of the notable features onboard are headlamp DRL, coloured LCD display, navigation, music playback, accept/reject calls, ride modes (Eco & Sport), reverse mode, hill hold, guide me home lights, 25L underseat storage capacity, and type-C USB charging port. As for TVS Orbiter, it gets LED headlamp, edge-to-edge combination lights with integrated indicators, cruise control, hill hold assist, 34L underseat storage area, USB charging slot, reverse mode, bluetooth enabled coloured LCD cluster with incoming call display and turn-by-turn navigation.

Though both the electric scooters appear to be identical in terms of features, TVS Orbiter has an upperhand here as the Chetak C25 misses out on cruise control and turn-by-turn navigation while having a smaller boot space. However, in terms of braking, while the Chetak C25 boasts of front disc and rear drum units, the Orbiter EV features drum brakes at both the ends. Hence, the Chetak C25 looks safer than the Orbiter EV due to the inclusion of front disc brake.
Bajaj Chetak C25 vs TVS Orbiter: Colours
The Chetak C25 is rolled out in six colours namely Active Black, Racing red, Classic White, Ocean Teal (Matte), Opalescent Silver and Misty Yellow. Similarly, the Orbiter EV is available in six colourways in the form of Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. As evident, there is no dearth of colour options and both the electric scooters are evenly matched here.

Bajaj Chetak C25 vs TVS Orbiter: Battery and Range
The Chetak C25 gets the smallest battery pack of 2.5 kWh in Bajaj’s EV portfolio. The IP67 rated fixed unit returns a range of 113 km on a single charge. It clocks a top speed of 55 kmph due to the hub-mounted electric motor. As for the Orbiter EV, it is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery which also comes with a IP67 certification. It delivers a range of 158 km on a full charge while taking 6.8 secs in 0-40 kmph sprint. Needless to state, a bigger battery pack ensures higher range for the Orbiter EV.

Bajaj Chetak C25 vs TVS Orbiter: Charging Time
The Chetak C25 is offered with a 750W offboard charger which takes 2.25 hours for 0-80 percent charge. For a 0-100 percent charge, it takes around 3.45 hours. TVS Orbiter is available with a 650W charger and 0-80 percent charging time of 4.10 hours. Hence, as one can notice, the time taken by the TVS electric scooter is quite higher than the Chetak C25 due to the heavier battery size.
