Bajaj and Suzuki will bring significant visual and mechanical updates to its most popular models namely Pulsar and Gixxer, respectively, in India
Bajaj and Suzuki will launch the new-gen versions of their popular motorcycle range namely Pulsar Classic and Gixxer, respectively, in the Indian market. While the new-gen Bajaj Pulsar Classic is likely to go on sale during the festive season of Diwali around Oct-Nov 2026, the new-gen Suzuki Gixxer is expected to break cover by the end of 2026 or early 2027 in India. Both the Pulsar and Gixxer are hugely popular among the masses in the 150-160cc segment while also being the top-selling models of their brands.
New-Gen Bajaj Pulsar Classic
Bajaj Auto cleverly trifurcated the Pulsar range in Classic, N, and NS/RS divisions. The Classic line-up is the highest-selling but it feels outdated as the company has not updated these models for quite a long time. In fact, the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 still carry the Wolf Eye’ design which debuted nearly 20 years back. Hence, Bajaj feels that it is the apt time to upgrade these bikes as the Pulsar nameplate celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026.
First things first, the new-gen Bajaj Pulsar Classic models will be underpinned by a new chassis which will replace the ageing double-cradle frame. The rear dual-shock suspension will also go for a toss in favour of a modern and advanced monoshock unit. The overall styling of the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 will also be refreshed but we do not expect heavy visual updates as the current design still enjoys massive fan following.

The new-gen Pulsars will be equipped with upmarket and features such as all-LED lighting, digital driver’s display and Bluetooth connectivity. Since the bikes will be sitting on a new frame, we also expect certain mechanical changes in the engine as well. The new-gen Bajaj Pulsar 125 could be priced between Rs 80,000-90,000 while the new-gen Bajaj Pulsar 150 is likely to come in a range of 1.05-1.15 lakh. Both the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom.
New-Gen Suzuki Gixxer
Suzuki will roll out the new-gen Gixxer bikes by the end of 2026 or early 2027 with substantial cosmetic and mechanical makeover. Both the 150cc and 250cc models have remained unchanged for the last 6 years, except for the introduction of new colours and graphics. While the new-gen Suzuki Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 150 SF have been internally codenamed as XF181 and XF191, the new-gen Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF get XF1C1 and XF1D1 codenames.

The new-gen models will use a heavily updated version of the current frame. Both the naked and fully-faired motorcycles will see a major design overhaul. They will be packed with latest features including TFT display with coloured screen, connected features, traction control, cruise control etc. to name a few. The public testing of these bikes have not commenced yet.
