These Seven Motorcycle Manufacturers Missing Auto Expo: Includes Bajaj, Royal Enfield…

Auto Expo 2018 Non Participating Manufacturers are almost equal to the participants… not good signs these…

Auto Expo is by far the biggest automotive show in India and one of the most acclaimed the world over! Various manufacturers come down and showcase their might and try to steal the thunder. However, of late, many makers (specially non-car) have started to withdraw from the exhibition.

This year the list of non-goers is massive and some very prominent names are not participating in the biennial event. Here is the list of non-participants for you…

Auto Expo 2018 Non Participating Manufacturers

  • Royal Enfield
  • Bajaj Auto
  • Triumph
  • Hyosung (and probably Benelli as well)
  • Piaggio (may include Aprilia as well)
  • Kinetic Motoroyale’s Norton & MV Agusta
  • Harley Davidson
  • KTM
Auto Expo 2018 Non Participating Manufacturers
Harley is NOT participating in this year’s event

This is big swollen list and takes quite a lot of excitement away from the show. However, we have a lot of biggies who have confirmed their participation. Here is their list.

Auto Expo 2018: Participating Companies

  • Hero Motocorp
  • BMW Motorrad
  • Honda
  • Yamaha
  • Mahindra (should include their two wheelers)
  • Kawasaki
  • TVS
  • Piaggio (may include Aprilia as well): Piaggio has asked us to remove their name from the ‘non-participating makers’ list which means they should be a part of the Auto Expo 2018
TVS, which showcased Akula last AE, will continue its participation in the event.

These names come from a report at Money Control which lists cost as the main reason of manufacturers shying away from the event. According to some executives, the spendings by these companies can vary from Rs 10 crore to 30 crore or even more. And they believe that the returns on this investment are low.

Other reasons cited for a no-show are – nothing new to showcase, some do not want rivals to know about their future ideas/products etc.

Let us hope this upcoming Auto Expo, which starts from 7th February 2018, is a cracker of a show despite the omission of so many big names.
