Ather Rizta achieved the 2 lakh units sales milestone in a time span of only 20 months in the Indian market
Ather Energy has announced that Rizta electric scooter has surpassed the 2 lakh units sales milestone in the Indian market. Launched in April 2024, the e-scooter took barely 20 months to achieve this significant landmark. Ather Rizta marked the first 1 lakh units sales six months back in May 2025 and hence, the next 1 lakh sales have come in a span of merely 6 months. The Bengaluru-based EV startup further stated that the Rizta electric scooter contributes to more than 70 percent of Ather’s overall sales.
According to the company, the new options like the Terracotta Red and the Rizta S variant with 3.7 kWh battery accounted for the majority of the sales. Banking on the strong demand, Ather nearly doubled its market share in key states such as Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It grew from 7 percent in Q1 FY26 to 14 percent in Q3 FY26 (till Nov’25).
In addition, Ather’s market share in Punjab witnessed a growth of 15 percent from 8 percent. It also saw a significant rise in Uttar Pradesh from 4 percent to 10 percent during the same time period. Recently, the company unlocked a major retail milestone of over 5 lakh electric scooters sold across India, according to Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data.
Speaking on the milestone, Ravneet Singh Phokela, CBO, Ather Energy, said “Rizta has been on a roll from the very beginning, expanding our addressable market and enabling us to expand distribution aggressively, especially in Middle and North India. Going forward, our focus remains on strengthening product accessibility through deeper distribution, and building on this strong base.”
Ather Rizta is offered in two trims namely S and Z with an IDC range of 123 km and 159 km, respectively. The e-scooter has a storage capacity of 56 litres which includes 34 litres under seat storage area and an optional 22 litres frunk accessory. It comes equipped with multiple safety features in the form of SkidControl, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), theft & tow alerts, and ping my scooter (available with AtherStack Pro).
A few months back at Ather Community Day 2025, the company launched a major upgrade for the Rizta Z with touchscreen functionality. Ather Energy has 524 Experience Centres (dealerships) as of Sep 30, 2025. Earlier this year, Rizta was also introduced in Ather’s international markets – Nepal and Sri Lanka.
