The recently launched Ather Konarc electric scooter takes on two very formidable heavyweights in the form of TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak in the Indian market

Ather Konarc was launched last week in the Indian market as the brand’s most affordable mass-market electric scooter. It was rolled out in S and Z series with a total of six variants with multiple battery pack options. Initially, only two grades namely the Konarc S 125 km and the Konarc S 161 km will go on sale while the remaining four trims will be available to the customers in 2027.

Based on the all-new EL platform, the Konarc will be at loggerheads with TVS iQube 3.5 kWh and Bajaj Chetak C 3502 in the domestic market. Hence, in this piece, we will carry out a detailed comparison with respect to price, range and more.

Ather Konarc S 3.5 kWh is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh while TVS iQube 3.5 kWh is available at a price point of Rs 1.43 lakh, followed by the Bajaj Chetak C 3502 which can be availed by making a payment of Rs 1.45 lakh. All the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom. As we can see, more or less, all the models have identical pricing with a difference of few hundreds and hence, it will not be tough to pick out one among these in terms of price.

The Konarc S 3.5 kWh is claimed to return IDC range of 161 km on a full charge. On the other hand, the iQube 3.5 kWh delivers IDC range of 145 km on a single charge. Last but not the least, the Chetak C 3502 gives IDC range of up to 153 km in one full charge. Hence, as visible, the Konarc has the highest range among its rival scooters while the iQube has the lowest.

The Konarc gets a total of three battery packs in the form of 2.1 kWh, 2.7 kWh and 3.5 kWh. However, taking into consideration only the 3.5 kWh battery, it has a top speed of 70 kmph. As for TVS iQube, it is available with a total of five battery options namely 2.3 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh, 4.7 kWh and 5.3 kWh. The 3.5 kWh variant can clock a top speed of 82 kmph.

Coming to Bajaj Chetak, it can be availed in three different battery choices of 2.5 kWh, 3 kWh and 3.5 kWh. The range-topping 3.5 kWh variant tops out at 80 kmph. As we can see, the iQube and Chetak come with higher top speed than the Konarc. Though we are hopeful that the Konarc Z series, currently kept under the wraps, will come with at least 80-85 kmph top speed.

The Konarc will be available in four dual-tone colour schemes namely Quartz White + Blue, Majestic Grey + Black, Celestial Gold + Blue and Lumen Copper + Black. TVS iQube 3.5 kWh variant comes in five single-tone colours in the form of Walnut Brown, Titanium Grey, Pearl White, Starlight Blue, and Copper Bronze. As for the Chetak 3502, the customers can purchase it in Brooklyn Black, Coarse Grey, Indigo Metallic, and Classic White paint shades.
