Ather Energy will present the EL electric scooter platform and a few concept scooters based on it, at its annual Community Day 2025 in August.
Ather Energy will unveil the EL electric scooter platform at its annual Community Day 2025 in August. Though the exact date of the event has not been announced yet by the brand, it is slated to take place next month. It has been learnt that Ather will showcase the new EL platform along with a few concept models based on this new e-scooter platform. Presently, it is the only established EV brand that does not retail an electric scooter below Rs 1 lakh mark as all its rivals such as Ola, TVS and Bajaj and Hero have a model in the sub Rs 1 lakh segment.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Ather is planning to roll out an affordable electric scooter under Rs 1 lakh price in the Indian market. In fact, the headlight design patent of the new e-scooter was leaked online. Now, connecting the dots, it is almost certain that the upcoming Ather affordable electric scooter will be based on the new EL platform and could go on sale in the coming months.
The report further adds that besides showcasing new concepts and EL Platform, the company is likely to spill the beans on its new-generation Grid fast chargers which are claimed to be quicker and highly convenient than the ongoing units. The present version of Grid chargers work at the rate of 1.5km/min with Ather electric scooters and 1.2km/min with Hero Vida e-scooters.

Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp have a mutual agreement where the e-scooters from these brands can use each other’s fast chargers for free of cost. Since Vida electric scooters use Ather’s open-sourced charger connector, they are quite compatible with the Bengaluru-based EV brand’s Grid fast charging network.
Last but not the least, Ather Energy is also expected to debut the latest version of its software stack in the form of Ather Stack 7.0 with upgraded features into the scooter. The 2024 Ather Community Day marked the launch of the all-new Rizta electric scooter which has already surpassed the sales milestone of 1 lakh units in the domestic market.

The rival brands of Ather such as Ola and Bajaj already have budget-friendly electric scooters in their portfolio. TVS Orbiter e-scooter is also under development and is likely to go on sale during the festive season of Diwali later this year. Hero will launch the Vida VX2 electric scooter on July 1 with a BaaS subscription model for a highly aggressive pricing.
