Ather Energy has introduced a new variant of the 450S with extended range of 161 km, making it equivalent to the range-topping 450X electric scooter.
Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the 450S electric scooter with a 3.7 kWh battery at a sticker price of Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in the Indian market. The new Ather 450S 3.7 kWh delivers a range of 161 km on a single charge. Earlier, this range was exclusively offered with the range-topping 450X model. Ather 450S 3.7 bookings have commenced online as well as at the brand’s dealerships across the country. The first deliveries are likely to began by Aug 2025 in the domestic market.
The new 450S 3.7 kWh variant will be positioned between the base 450S 2.9 kWh and top-end 450X 3.7 kWh trims. Visually, the new grade carries the same design elements as the other variants in the 450S range. It also gets the 7-inch DeepView Display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and automatic brightness adjustment.
Some of the other notable features onboard the e-scooter are LED headlamp, AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, auto indicator cut-off, Tow & Theft Alerts, Find my scooter, over-the-air (OTA) updates and Amazon Alexa Skills integration. These features are a part of the Ather Pro Pack, which was recently renamed as AtherStack Pro.
The new variant in the 450S range is offered with an electric motor which develops top power of 7.2 bhp and highest torque of 22 Nm. It touches the 40 kmph mark from standstill in just 3.9 secs while clocking a top speed of 90 kmph. The Bengaluru-based EV brand has offered four riding modes namely Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport as standard.
The 450S 3.7 is compatible with Ather Grid, which is the company’s network of fast-chargers spread across the country. Presently, Ather Grid count stands at 3300+ in India. As for home charging, it takes nearly 4 hours and 30 mins for a 0-80 percent battery juice-up. The brand has also rolled out the Ather Eight70 comprehensive warranty programme as an option with the new variant of the 450S, which provides 8 years/80,000 km warranty along with a guarantee of minimum 70 percent battery health.
