The Tuono 457 is the naked version of the RS 457 and will share several elements with the fully-faired motorcycle
Aprilia Tuono 457 had its global premiere at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. The naked streetfighter motorcycle has now been listed on the brand’s official website in India, indicating that it might launch anytime soon in our country. The Tuono 457 will be more affordable than the RS 457, which is now locally manufactured by Aprilia in the Indian market. It has been learnt that a few company dealers have even started accepting bookings for the Tuono 457, albeit unofficially, at a token payment of Rs 10,000 while first deliveries are promised Feb 2025 onwards.
Based on the 457 platform, the Tuono 457 is the naked version of the fully-faired RS 457. Right from the chassis, both the bikes share multiple elements such as frame, brakes and wheels. Aprilia Tuono 457 flaunts a LED headlamp upfront with minimal fairing on either side due to its naked character. It comes with a stepped seat and exposed frame.
As far as hardware is concerned, Aprilia Tuono 457 is equipped with USD front suspension with preload adjustment and a mono-shock unit at the rear. The braking duties are performed by disc brakes at front and rear, complemented by a single-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels which are shod with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres.
Some of the notable features on-board are a 5-inch coloured TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, traction control system, ride-by-wire throttle and multiple riding modes. In fact, the bike can also be availed with a bi-directional quickshifter as an optional feature.
Mechanically, the Tuono 457 will be powered by the same 457cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled petrol engine which generates maximum power output of 47 bhp and peak torque performance of 43.5 Nm. The engine will be offered with a 6-speed transmission and slipper clutch.
Aprilia Tuono 457 will be at loggerheads with Yamaha MT-03, BMW G310 R and KTM 390 Duke in the Indian market. Expect the price to be around Rs 3.75 lakh (ex-showroom) if not more.
