The Indian two-wheeler industry will get two all-new models in the next 3-4 days in the form of Simple Wave and Royal Enfield Himalayan 440
As we approach the festive season of Diwali in a few weeks, several key two-wheeler brands are ready to launch their new models in the Indian market. Last month, we witnessed the introduction of several new motorcycles, scooters and EVs by the mainstream brands such as Bajaj, Honda, Yamaha, Ola and Ather. However, as we move ahead, we will see a plethora of new models going on sale. As early as first week of Sep 2026, we have two confirmed two-wheeler launches in the Indian market, which have been listed in this piece below.
Simple Wave Family Electric Scooter
Simple Energy is all set to launch a new family electric scooter on September 2, 2026 in the Indian market. Simple Wave will directly rival Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and Yamaha EC06 while focusing on comfort, practicality and shared journeys. The brand claims that the ‘Wave’ moniker is inspired by nature as it reflects effortless movement, freedom and togetherness.
It will be the brand’s most affordable model till date in India. Simple Wave electric scooter has been spotted on multiple occasions during its test runs on the Indian roads, albeit with camouflage. The e-scooter will boast of a flat single-piece seat, front disc brake and dual-shock rear suspension. It will also come with a TFT instrument console and small storage spaces in the front apron.
As visible in the spy images, Simple Wave will come with an LED headlamp which will be positioned beneath the full-width LED DRLs on the apron. The spy images also confirm the presence of telescopic front suspension, upright handlebar, and centre stand. The technical details, including battery pack, motor and range, are not available in public domain.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 440
The all-new ADV bike will be launched on Sep 4, 2026 in the Indian market. Likely to be positioned between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450 in RE portfolio in India, it will be the spiritual successor to the Himalayan 411 which was discontinued in late 2023. The Himalayan 440 is expected to be priced around 2.50-2.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It is not likely to pack multiple premium features, except the switchable ABS and Tripper navigation pod.
The adventure motorcycle will use the same platform and engine as the Scram 440, but styling will be inspired by the Himalayan 411. We can expect the upcoming Himalayan 440 to have a relatively lower seat height while being highly affordable than the Himalayan 450. It will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, which are shod with tubed dual-purpose tyres. At the heart, the 443cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine from the Scram 440 will be carried over with a 6-speed gearbox.
