In the coming days, two all-new budget-friendly electric scooters from leading brands will be launched in the Indian market
The electric scooter segment is growing rapidly in the Indian market. In July 2026, the overall electric two-wheeler sales surpassed 2 lakh units and the scooters accounted for more than 95 percent. Several leading auto brands such as TVS, Bajaj and Hero retail e-scooters in our country while a few pure EV start-ups such as Ather and Ola also offer a wide variety of electric scooters in India. Since the market is evolving, more new models are coming and in less than 20 days from now, we will witness the launch of multiple affordable electric scooters in India.
1. Ather Konarc
Based on the EL01 concept, Ather Konarc will be launched on Aug 29, 2026 in the Indian market. For those asking, Ather EL01 concept was unveiled last year at the Annual Community Day. The Konarc electric scooter will be the most affordable model from the brand with prices likely to fall in the bracket of Rs 1-1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Running on the latest AtherStack 7.0, it will come with voice commands as standard.
Underpinned by the all-new EL platform, it will be presented in a conventional design which is best suited for family electric scooters. The recently released teaser video confirmed that the upcoming Ather affordable e-scooter will get a handlebar-mounted LED headlamp with a broad LED daytime running light (DRL) strip on the front apron. The Konarc will ride on 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheels.
It will come with a swingarm-mounted electric motor, which is generally considered the best for ride quality as compared to the hub-mounted motor. Ather Konarc will be the first company model to get the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) and an onboard charger, termed as Ather Charge Drive Controller. The design patent hinted at the inclusion of a 7-inch instrument console with TFT display and connected features.
2. Simple Arrive
Simple Energy will launch a new family electric scooter on Sep 2, 2026 in India. Christened as ‘Arrive’, it will come with a traditional design as compared to the angular profile of One and OneS e-scooters. Simple Arrive electric scooter has been spotted multiple times during its test runs and the spy images showed a flat single-piece seat, front disc brake, dual-shock rear suspension, and centre stand.
It will also come with a TFT instrument console and small storage spaces in the front apron. As we can see in the spy pics, Simple Arrive will come with an LED headlamp which will be positioned beneath the full-width LED DRLs on the apron. The new pics also confirm the presence of telescopic front suspension and upright handlebar. The technical details, including battery pack, motor and range, are not available in public domain.
