The all-new roadster will be sold through Honda Bigwing dealerships as it rivals Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and BSA Gold Star 650 in India
Honda recently showcased a total of 10 new motorcycles and scooters in the Indian market, including the all-new CB500. The brand had stated that all these models will be locally developed in India while going on sale in a phase-wise manner within the FY27. Now, it seems that the first all-new motorcycle to be launched in our market is going to be the CB500 as the official bookings for the roadster have commeced at Honda Bigwing dealerships across the country. It will directly rival Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the BSA Gold Star 650.
Honda CB500 will be introduced in three trims namely Alloy, Spoke tubeless and Spoke tubeless with graphics. Inspired by the legendary CB750, it will get a plethora of premium and upmarket features in the form of all-LED lighting, semi-digital instrument cluster, front and rear disc brakes, dual-channel ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
The CB500 will be rolled out with traditional telescopic front forks and dual-shock rear absorbers. Sitting above the CB350 line-up in Honda’s portfolio, the roadster gets classic styling elements in the form of circular LED headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a single-piece seat. The slipper clutch and Honda RoadSync connectivity will also be available as standard.
The CB500 will be powered by an all-new 501cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine which develops top power of 27 hp and peak torque of 43.3 Nm, while linked to a 5-speed gearbox. For reference, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is offered with a 648cc parallel-twin engine which generates maximum power output of 47.4 hp and highest torque performance of 52.3 Nm.
Apart from the CB500, Honda 2-Wheelers India unveiled several all-new motorcycles in the form of the Rebel 300, Rebel 500, Honda XR 300L, and XR 300 Rally among many others. In addition, the ADV160 maxi-scooter also made its first appearance in India while the all-electric QC3 scooter was also sho0wcased for the very first time in India. Honda will produce these models in India with a higher degree of localization.
Honda Bigwing dealerships retail a plethora of premium motorcycles in the Indian market in the form of NX200, Hornet 2.0, CB350, CB350C, CB350 H’ness, CB350 RS, NX500 E-Clutch, CB1000 Hornet SP, XL750 Transalp E-Clutch, CB750 Hornet E-Clutch, Gold Wing Tour and CBR1000RR-R SP. In the coming months, several new models will be sold via these showrooms in our country.
