The purpose-built TVS Apache RR 200 Mini will be ridden by aspiring racers aged between 10–14 years in TVS Apache Junior Programme
TVS Motor Company has unveiled the Apache RR 200 Mini Motorcycles, which will be used by the young riders in TVS Apache Junior Programme. The company handed over 10 units of these bikes to the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC). The purpose-built TVS Apache RR 200 Mini will be ridden by aspiring racers aged between 10–14 years at the Madras International Karting Arena (MIKA). The young riders will receive structured coaching in a controlled environment, guided by expert instructors and equipped with purpose-built motorcycles and world-class protective gear.
As for the Apache RR 200 Mini, it is equipped with a race-tuned RTR 200 4V engine which develops top power of 22.7 bhp at 9500 rpm while clocking a top speed of 110 kmph. Tipping the weighing scale at merely 90 kg, the bike rides on 12-inch wheels which are shod with 110/70 section front and 120/80 section rear tyres. The Apache RR 200 Mini sits on a modified RTR 200 4V chassis with a shortened swingarm.
TVS ‘Apache’ nameplate recently completed 20 years in the Indian market. Earlier this month, the brand also celebrated the historic milestone of 70 lakh customers worldwide as the bike is sold across 90 countries. It spans across naked, supersport, and adventure rally tourer motorcycle segments, with engine capacities from 160cc to 310cc. The Apache line-up comprises of RTR 160, RTR 160 4V, RTR 180, RTR 200 4V, RTR 310, RR 310 and RTX 300.
The TVS Apache Junior Programme, a first-of-its-kind initiative, is for kids between the age of 10–14 years to discover and develop their racing potential. It offers a structured learning pathway with world-class training and mentorship at the Madras International Karting Arena (MIKA). The participants can train on specially developed TVS Apache RR 200 Mini motorcycles, which are available on rent too as a part of the programme.
This programme will introduce young riders to the fundamentals of racing—discipline, precision, control and safety – while making professional motorsport more accessible. In addition, it will create a strong foundation for future racing champions and strengthens India’s grassroots motorsport ecosystem. TVS Apache RR 200 Mini Motorcycle programme extends the company’s racing heritage beyond product innovation to talent development.
