The FZ Flex Fuel, christened as the FZ Blue Flex, can run on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85
Yamaha India has launched the FZ Flex Fuel at a sticker price of Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country. Christened as Yamaha FZ Blue Flex, it is engineered to run on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85. It is the Japanese brand’s first flex fuel motorcycle in the Indian market. Recently, the E20 petrol has been made mandatory by the Indian government as the ethanol-based fuel helps in reducing fossil fuel dependency while contributing to environmental impact reduction.
Based on the regular FZ, the Blue Flex version gets the same full-LED projector headlamp with integrated position lamps, sculpted fuel tank, faux air vents, compact exhaust pipe, single-piece seat and sharp LED tail lamp. The suspension duties are performed by telescopic front forks and a rear swingarm setup. Yamaha FX Flex Fuel has been rolled out in Metallic Black colour scheme.
Initially, Yamaha FZ Blue Flex will be sold in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. It will be available at the company’s select Blue Square dealerships. Powered by the 149cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine, the E20-E85 fuel compatible bike will have top power of 11.5 bhp and peak torque of 12.8 Nm while paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said: “Achieving a carbon-neutral future requires a dynamic, multi-pathway strategy rather than a single solution. Having already commenced our electric vehicle journey in India, the introduction of our innovative Blue Flex technology marks another strategic milestone. This move is a deliberate alignment of Yamaha’s global sustainability vision with the Indian government’s progressive biofuel policies. By embracing multiple technological avenues, we reinforce our commitment to global carbon neutrality goals while providing versatile, high-quality products tailored to the evolving needs of Indian consumers.”
The FZ Blue Flex also boasts of front and rear disc brakes which work along with the Bosch Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). It retains the LCD instrument cluster which houses the digital speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and more. A few other standout features include in-built side stand engine cut-off switch, 140mm wide rear radial tyre, and engine cowl.

The buyers can also avail LED turn indicators as an accessory at an additional cost. The two-level seat, carried from the stock motorcycle, offers an upright and relaxed riding position. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, it tips the weighing scale at 139 kg. The FZ Blue Flex can be booked at Yamaha’s official website at a token payment of Rs 2,000.
