In the coming few months, Hero, Bajaj and Yamaha will launch multiple new motorcycles in the 200cc+ segment in the Indian market
The two-wheeler retail sales stood at 18,28,458 units in June 2026 with a strong YoY growth of 21.2 percent against 15,08,378 units sold in June 2025. The sales momentum continued to bring decent sales numbers for the leading two-wheeler brands last month. As we enter the second half of this year, we will witness the launch of multiple new motorcycles from key auto companies such as Hero, Bajaj and Yamaha. These brands will strengthen their position in the Indian market by expanding the motorcycle portfolio with new models.
Hero MotoCorp, the leading two-wheeler brand in the world, has a quiet 2026 so far as apart from rolling out the flex fuel versions of the Hero Splendor+ and HF Deluxe, it has not had any major product launch this year. Hence, the company is likely to launch an all-new motorcycle in Aug 2026 and it could be none other than the Karizma XMR 250 which was last seen nearly two years back at EICMA 2024.
Apart from the Karizma XMR 250, Hero has lined-up multiple premium bikes, scheduled to launch later this year. These high-end models will be co-developed with Harley-Davidson while produced locally in India at the Neemrana facility of the company. These motorcycles could fill the empty space in the premium segment caused by the discontinuation of the Mavrick 400.

Similarly, Bajaj is all set to expand its motorcycle range by introducing several new motorcycles. While the company’s first-ever adventure bike under a new sub-brand has already been spotted in public during its test runs on the Indian roads, it has been learnt that the new-gen Pulsar Classic is also being readied for a market launch as early as next month in India.
In addition, we could see a few more model launches in the electric two-wheeler space as Bajaj Chetak EV is selling like hot cakes in the Indian market. The brand could offer a few more affordable variants of the electric scooter to rival the likes of TVS Orbiter and Hero Vida VX2. The entry-level Platina and CT110X line-up is also likely to get updates in the coming months.

Last but not the least, Yamaha has confirmed to launch a new motorcycle on Aug 2027 in the Indian market and we strongly believe that it is going to be the highly-anticipated R2 fully-faired sportsbike. The global 200cc motorcycle will be designed, developed and manufactured entirely in India while exported to several global markets from the brand’s Chennai factory. Internally codenamed as 070, It could be priced between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
