The NMax 155 Tech Max is the most feature rich Yamaha maxi-scooter and will sit above the Aerox 155 in the portfolio
We earlier told you that Yamaha is readying the NMax 155 for a market launch in India within the FY27. Now, the company has filed the design patent of the NMax 155 Tech Max in the Indian market, hinting that it might go on sale in the coming months. Though the Japanese brand already retails the Aerox 155 in the maxi-scooter segment, and hence it would be Yamaha’s second model in the segment to rival the likes of Hero Xoom 160 and yet-to-be-launched Honda ADV160. The Nmax 155 Tech Max will be the most feature rich Yamaha scooter in India.
Based on the standard NMax 155, the Tech Max is the most premium, advanced and upmarket variant of the maxi-scooter which is sold in multiple global markets as Nmax Turbo branding too. Some of the notable features onboard the Yamaha NMax 155 Tech Max are 4.2-inch colour TFT display, integrated Garmin navigation, smartphone connectivity, Smart Key, USB-C charging port, all-LED lighting and a dual-display dashboard layout.
In addition, Yamaha NMax 155 Tech Max also boasts of multiple ride modes in the form of Sport and Town. It is also packed with a downshift function, which gets activated through a switch or throttle input to deliver stronger response, identical to a quick downshift in a traditional gearbox. For those asking, the maxi-scooter comes loaded with Yamaha’s YECVT, or Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission.

Riding on 13-inch wheels as compared to 14-inch units of the Aerox 155, the NMax 155 Tech Max also has a relatively lower saddle height of 770 mm which makes it a better product even for the short-heighted riders. Tipping the weighing scale at 135 kg, the maxi-scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 7.1 litres. It uses a central spine for housing the fuel tank.
The suspension duties are carried by telescopic front forks and gas-charged dual-shock rear absorbers. The stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends alongside a dual-channel ABS in international markets. Just so you know, the Aerox 155 is offered with a front disc and rear drum brake setup as standard. Hence, the NMax 155 Tech Max will come with premium braking equipment.

At the heart, It houses the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that we see with the Aerox. This engine is capable of churning out top power of 14.8 bhp and peak torque of 14 Nm. The NMax 155 is presently sold in several Asian and European markets, including Singapore, Indonesia, and the UK. It has been on sale for more than a decade since it globally debuted in 2015.
