Upcoming Bajaj Adventure Bike Could Use 250cc Engine – Report

While there is official word on the engine specs of the upcoming Bajaj adventure bike, it might use the Pulsar N250’s air-cooled engine

Bajaj Auto is working on an all-new entry-level adventure motorcycle which is likely to debut by the end of 2026 or early 2027. It will be sold in the Indian market as well as multiple global markets, predominantly in the Latin America region. Now, we have learnt that the India-spec version of the upcoming Bajaj adventure bike will borrow the 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine from the Pulsar N250. The recent sighting of the ADV motorcycle’s test mules alongside the Bajaj Pulsar N250 further strengthens this claim.

Sources close to the development have revealed that Bajaj Auto has developed the adventure bike for Latin America, where it retails multiple new models. Needless to mention, it is India’s biggest two-wheeler brand in exports and several motorcycles are shipped to Latin American markets from India. The entry-level ADV bikes such as Yamaha WR155R, Honda CRF150L, and Suzuki DR150 among many others have a massive customer base in various countries of Latin America.

Hence, Bajaj Auto is developing the adventure bike to cash in on this opportunity and make its presence felt in this highly lucrative segment. As far as the local market in India is concerned, the upcoming ADV motorcycle from the Pune-based two-wheeler brand will directly rival Hero Xpulse 200 and Kawasaki KLX230 – both of which are sold with an extremely aggressive pricing.

Some of the prominent elements seen in the spy images are front beak, long single-piece seat, rear top box, wire-spoke wheels, dual-purpose tyres, and high positioned handlebar. The suspension duties could be carried by telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the rear.

In terms of features, we can expect premium features in the form of all-LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation among others. The Bajaj adventure bike price could start from Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) while the top-end variant could be priced around Rs 2.30 lakh in the Indian market.

Earlier this year, Rajiv Bajaj – MD & CEO of Bajaj Auto, had confirmed that the company will introduce a new sub-brand for adventure bikes in FY27 in India. Hence, we can expect the Bajaj adventure bikes to be launched under this new sub-brand, starting 2027. Hence, the moves from the home-grown automaker in the next few months are going to be really interesting to watch.
