The 2027 KTM 790 Duke comes with refreshed styling, modern features and improvements in ergonomics and hardware to become a better overall package
The 2027 KTM 790 Duke has been unveiled globally with minor visual updates, latest features and improved ergonomics. The styling cues have been derived from the bigger KTM models in the naked motorcycle line-up such as the 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R. The 2027 790 Duke is also lighter in weight by 2 kg than the preceding model. It is not on sale in the Indian market currently. However, if KTM decides to launch the 790 Duke in our country, then it could bridge the gap between 390 Duke and 990 Duke in its naked motorcycle portfolio.
Starting with updates, the 2027 KTM 790 Duke flaunts a redesigned headlamp while the whole bodywork has been streamlined as it gets bigger front fairing and reshaped fuel tank. A newly designed exhaust and muffler sum up the design updates. It comes with a completely reworked rider triangle with the new handlebar, repositioned rider and passenger footpegs and improved seat in place.
In addition, the 2027 790 Duke features a new subframe and new triple clamps to further improve the overall ergonomics. The naked bike rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires while a few other high-end components include WP steering damper and all-new WP radial brakes among many others. For those asking, the new WP braking system has been developed in-house by KTM.
KTM has also worked on the suspension setup as the WP Apex hardware receives update at both ends. The 2027 790 Duke is packed with 43 mm open-cartridge USD front forks with 150 mm of travel and adjustable compression and rebound damping. At the rear, it boasts of an adjustable gas-assisted monotube shock absorber with 170 mm of travel and adjustable rebound damping and preload.
The riders have the convenience of adjusting the suspension through an easy-to-use 5-click dial. The European brand has also introduced a full range of KTM PowerParts and KTM PowerWear for the riders so that they can easily customize their motorcycle. The 2027 KTM 790 Duke will reach authorized company dealerships from end of July with availability varying by market.
At the heart, the 2027 KTM 790 Duke retains the same 799 cc LC8c parallel-twin engine which delivers top power of 105 hp in the standard version and 95 hp in the A2 license compliant variant. The engine is a EURO 5+ compliant unit.
