The list of top 10 scooters has 3 TVS models and 2 from each Suzuki and Honda while Bajaj, Yamaha and Hero had only one scooter
The combined sales of top 10 scooters in May 2026 stood at 6,41,680 units with a healthy YoY growth of 23 percent as the top 10 models accounted for retail volumes of 5,21,433 units in May 2025. Honda Activa continued as the undisputed leader of the segment with a share of nearly 36 percent in the sales list of top 10 scooters in May 2026. On the other hand, Hero Destini became the fastest-growing model in the list of top 10 scooters with the highest YoY sales growth of more than 76 percent in May 2026.
Starting with the Activa, it posted sales of over 2.28 lakh units in May 2026 as compared to around 1.91 lakh units with a YoY growth of 20 percent. The second position was occupied by TVS Jupiter with retail volumes of over 1.24 lakh units last month against 97,606 units in May 2025 with a YoY growth of 28 percent. Similar to the Activa, it is also offered with 110cc and 125 engine options at starting prices of Rs 73,550 and Rs 78,100, respectively.
The third position was secured by Suzuki Access with 75,729 units in May 2026 against 75,778 units sold during the same month last year. The sales volumes were more or less identical with a difference of only 49 units. The fourth position was grabbed by TVS iQube electric scooter with sales of 42,192 units in May 2026 as it continued to lead the e2w segment.

It was followed closely by yet another electric scooter in the form of Bajaj Chetak EV at the fifth position with sales of 38,376 units in May 2026. The e-scooter witnessed a dramatic rise in YoY sales by over 50 percent. So, as we can see, among the top 5 scooters in May 2026, there were two all-electric models. The sixth position was held by Ntorq 125 with sales of 34,127 units last month as compared to 25,205 units in May 2025 with a YoY growth of 35 percent.
Hero Destini, the fastest-growing model, was at the seventh position as sales increased from 15,018 units in May 2025 to 26,482 units in May 2026. Honda Dio, at the ninth position, was the only scooter in the list of top 10 models to record a negative YoY growth as sales were down from 26,220 units in May 2025 to 23,814 units in May 2026. Suzuki Burgman retained the eighth spot with single-digit YoY growth as it recorded sales of 25,835 units in May 2026.

Ather Rizta was ousted from the list of top 10 scooters in May 2026 while Yamaha RayZR held on to the tenth and eventual position with sales of 21,403 units in May 2026. It posted a decent YoY growth of over 64 percent as 13,023 units were retailed in May 2025.
