In the list of top 10 motorcycles in May 2026 in India, only five models registered a double-digit YoY growth
The top 10 motorcycle models in India registered combined sales of 9,02,658 units in May 2026 against 8,85,467 units during the same month last year with a marginal YoY growth of around 2 percent. Hero Splendor continued as the best-selling motorcycle as it accounted for more than one-third of the total sales among the top 10 models. Yet another Hero bike, the Glamour, which was the fastest-growing model in terms of YoY sales in Apr 2026, couldn’t make it to the list of top 10 bikes in May 2026.
Hero Splendor sales surged from 3,10,335 units in May 2025 to 3,48,115 units in May 2026 with a YoY growth of around 12 percent. Honda Shine retained the second position with sales volumes touching 1,55,441 units. It posted a YoY de-growth of nearly 2 percent as 1,58,271 units of the motorcycle were sold in May 2025. Similar to Hero Splendor, the Shine is also offered with multiple engine options in the form of 100cc and 125cc.
Bajaj Pulsar also held on to the third spot with sales of 1,24,270 units with a modest YoY growth of 2 percent. The brand had sold 1,22,151 units of the Pulsar in May 2025. It is available in four distinct model categories in the form of N, NS, RS, and Classic with engine options ranging from 125cc to 400cc. Bajaj retails a total of 11 motorcycles under the ‘Pulsar’ nameplate in the country.

Hero HF Deluxe, taking the fourth position, witnessed a massive setback as retail volumes came down to 66,722 units in May 2026 from 1,07,768 units in May 2025 with a steady YoY decline of 121 percent. The fifth position was held by TVS Apache range of motorcycles with total sales of 53,900 units last month against 49,099 units in May 2025 with a double-digit YoY growth.
Honda CB Unicorn occupied the sixth position as sales increased from 28,616 units in May 2025 to 34,925 units in May 2026 with a decent YoY growth of 22 percent. For the second consecutive month, two Royal Enfield models namely the Classic 350 and Bullet 350 featured in the list of the top 10 motorcycles in India. While the Classic 350 was at the eighth position with 34,594 units, the Bullet 350 grabbed the tenth and eventual spot with 23,372 units.

TVS Raider, despite recording negative growth of 2 percent in May 2026, secured the seventh position as volumes declined from 35,401 units in May 2025 to 34,852 units in May 2026. Bajaj Platina was at the ninth position as retail volumes fell down from 27,919 units in May 2025 to 26,467 units in May 2026 with a YoY de-growth of 5 percent.
