Triumph Bonneville 400 To Launch Later This Year, To Rival Classic 350

The Bonneville 400 will be launched around the festive season of Diwali (Oct-Nov) later this year with the recently introduced 350cc engine

Triumph Bonneville 400 was spotted undisguised in India a couple of months back. Since then, speculations have been on the rise regarding its launch in the Indian market as it will be up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 which is the best-selling motorcycle in the segment. The sources in the auto industry have confirmed to us that the Bonneville 400 will be launched around the festive season of Diwali (Oct-Nov) later this year with the recently introduced 350cc engine so that it can be priced aggressively.

The Bonneville 400, captured on camera in Apr 2026, flaunted a retro look with chrome-studded crank-case and exhaust pipe while riding on wire-spoke wheels. The overall styling is inspired by the bigger Bonneville models of 900cc and 1200cc as the old-school charm of these iconic cruiser motorcycles is visible in the smallest Bonneville till date.

The earlier spy images revealed that Triumph has left no stone unturned to make the Bonneville 400 a classic retro motorcycle with the inclusion of elements like circular LED headlamp, belly pan, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, chrome-finished rear grab rail, single exhaust pipe and lower handlebars. All these elements are quite popular among the RE enthusiasts and hence, Triumph could offer a decent alternative to its best-selling motorcycle.

The Bonneville 400 would use traditional elements instead of premium cycle parts as we see in the Speed 400. It will boast of telescopic front forks in place of the Speed 400’s USD front suspension. At the rear, the bike will have twin-shock absorbers and to accommodate this setup, the brand is likely to use a new subframe and swingarm or a heavily modified version of the existing unit.

The stopping power will come from front and rear disc units, which will be assisted by a dual-channel ABS. Interestingly, the Bonneville 400 houses a circular instrument cluster as compared to the semi-circular unit seen in the Speed 400. At the heart, the India-spec Bonneville 400 would be packed with the new 349cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which generates max power of 36.5 bhp and peak torque of 32 Nm with the Speed 400 and Scrambler models.

These power and torque figures are expected to be retained with the Bonneville 400. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The Bonneville would be the seventh 400 motorcycle in the British brand’s portfolio after the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, Scrambler 400 XC, Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400.
