The company dealers have temporarily suspended the bookings of the F 450 GS due to overwhleming demand and limited production capacity
BMW Motorrad dealers in India have stopped accepting bookings for the recently launched F 450 GS adventure motorcycle. It went on sale in Apr 2026 at a starting price of Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. We earlier reported you that BMW F 450 GS waiting period has gone up to five months in several metro cities including New Delhi, Pune and Bengaluru. Now, it has been learnt that the first batch allocated for the Indian market has already been sold out while the second batch is expected to arrive around Aug-Sep 2026.
BMW India has not released any official info regarding the temporary suspension of bookings and this story is purely based on the feedback gathered from company dealers in major Indian cities. The F 450 GS has been developed in Germany but its entire production responsibility is handled by TVS Motor Company at the Hosur manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.
Though the series production had commenced in late Nov 2025, the waiting period is still higher due to the overwhelming response and exports being priortized over domestic volumes. Just so you know, the India-made F 450 GS is also being exported to several European countries, including the UK. It is available in three variants namely Base, Exclusive and GS Trophy.

Sitting on a a welded tubular steel frame with integrated forged parts, BMW F 450 GS adorns the iconic ‘GS’ design philosophy with peculiar styling elements such as the ‘X’ shaped full LED headlight, front beak, split-seat setup, tapered aluminum handlebar and body-coloured side panels. The fuel tank capacity stands at 14 litres while the standard saddle height is pegged at 845 mm.
The stopping power comes from a floating single-disc front unit and a single disc rear brake. The suspension duties are helmed by USD front forks and double-armed rear swinging arm with progressive damping. BMW F 450 GS is equipped with a first-in-segment Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) along with Shift Assistant Pro, which ensures seamless upshifts and downshifts. The USB-C socket, heated grips and adjustable hand levers are also a part of the feature list.

At the heart, the F 450 GS houses the newly developed 420cc twin-cylinder inline engine which generates top power of 47 bhp at 8750 rpm and highest torque of 43 Nm at 6750 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. BMW Motorrad is offering a wide range of accessories with the F 450 GS, including protection parts, luggage parts and navigation equipment.
