Hero Sales May 2026: 5.70 Lakh Units, 19,052 Vida E-Scooters

Hero registered double-digit YoY growth in the Deluxe 125cc, premium motorcycle and scooter segments in the Indian market

Hero MotoCorp, retaining its position as world’s largest two-wheeler brand, posted sales of 5.70 lakh units in May 2026 as compared to 5.08 lakh units in May 2025. As per the data collected from Vahan portal, Hero had 496,957 registrations last month. The company stated that it registered double-digit YoY growth in the Deluxe 125cc, premium motorcycle and scooter segments. The export business also witnessed a staggering 78 percent YoY growth as due to strong demand across international markets, it shipped 33,284 units in May 2026.

Hero’s EV arm Vida continued the strong sales momentum with 19,052 Vahan registrations as it recorded an exceptional 166 percent YoY growth in May 2026. The homegrown brand also began the DIRT.E K3 retail operations in select markets from last month. Vida Dirt.E K3 electric bike was launched in Dec 2025 at an introductory price of Rs 69,990 (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.

Hero’s domestic sales in May 2026 increased from 488,997 units in May 2025 to 536,784 units in May 2026. On the other hand, the exports surged from 18,704 units in May 2025 to 33,284 units in May 2026. The company sold 503,763 motorcycles last month as compared to 475,164 units in May 2025. As for scooters, a total of 66,305 units were retailed against 32,537 units in May 2025.

Hero MotoCorp sold over 5.32 lakh units in Apr 2026 with a healthy YoY growth of 85 percent in the domestic market. It had retailed close to 2.89 lakh units during the same month last year. The sales of Vida electric scooter range also increased from 7,116 units in Apr 2025 to 16,291 units in Apr 2026 with a YoY growth of 129 percent. It continued as the world’s biggest two-wheeler brand.

Recently, the 2026 Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 debuted at a sticker price of Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. It was rolled out with refreshed dual-tone body graphics, signature XTEC 2.0 badging, premium 3D emblem, dual-textured seat and first-in-segment Hazard Lights. The biggest USP of the bike remained its best-in-class mileage of 72 kmpl.

Hero MotoCorp is all set to introduce its first flex fuel motorcycle tomorrow in the Indian market. It could either be the HF Deluxe or the Splendor with the ability to run on E85 fuel. The brand had showcased the ethanol-based Hero HF Deluxe at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 with claims that it can run on ethanol-blended petrol with ethanol content ranging from 20% (E20) to 85% (E85).
