TVS will be adding 15 lakh units to its production within the next year, as the overall manufacturing capacity will stand at 8.3 millon units annually
TVS Motor Company is all set to increase its annual production capacity from 6.8 million units to 8.3 million units in the next 12 months. The company will add 1.5 million units to its yearly manufacturing capacity to support the growing demand scooters, premium motorcycles, EVs, exports and three-wheelers. In addition, the Hosur factory will also play a key role in the production of future Norton Motorcycles, which are likely to go on sale in the Indian market in the coming months. Recently, KN Radhakrishna, CEO of TVS Motor Company, while speaking during post-results interaction, reportedly stated, “Immediately, we are looking at increasing the capacity by another 1.5 million to go to somewhere around 8.3 million. Because the demand is good, we have to add significant capacity in the next 12 months.” For those asking, TVS retailed 5.9 million units in FY26 while ranked as the third-largest two-wheeler brand in India.
It was widely circulated in media that TVS is also planning to setup a new two-wheeler and three-wheeler factory with multiple states such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu under consideration for the same. TVS has concrete plans to expand the electric two-wheeler production to 50,000 units per month in future as demand has crossed 40,000 units on a monthly basis.

TVS further stated that it has earmarked a massive investment of Rs 3500 crore for the production of Norton Motorcycles in FY27. This amount will be used in product development, production expansion and R&D purposes. While around Rs 2500 crore have been specifically directed towards new product development and advanced engineering programmes, Rs 1000 crore will be used to ramp up manufacturing infrastructure and capacity expansion.
