BSA Scrambler 650 is the latest entrant in the middleweight scrambler segment in India as it rivals Royal Enfield Bear 650
Classic Legends recently launched the BSA Scrambler 650 in the Indian market. Having made its global debut in July 2025 in the UK, it is the company’s second motorcycle in the 650cc segment as the Gold Star 650 is already on sale in India. The Scrambler 650 directly locks horns with the Royal Enfield Bear 650, which was introduced in Nov 2024 in our country. The Scrambler 650 by Classic Legends was launched in a price range of Rs 3.25-3.41 lakh (ex-showroom) in the domestic market. On the other hand, Royal Enfield Bear 650 price starts at Rs 3.75 lakh while going up to Rs 3.98 lakh for the range-topping variant. So, as visible, the Scrambler 650 is nearly Rs 50,000 less expensive than the Bear 650 and if you are looking for an affordable motorcycle, then it is your ideal choice.

The Scrambler 650 is available in three colour schemes namely Raven Black, Victor Yellow and Thunder Grey. As for the Bear 650, it can be availed in a total of five paint shades in the form of Board Walk, Wild Honey, Petrol Green, Golden Shadow, and Two Four Nine. Hence, if you prefer swanky multi-tone colours, then Bear 650 is highly recommended as it offers you more choices than the Scrambler 650.

Beginning with the suspension setup, the Scrambler 650 gets 41mm telescopic front forks and twinshock rear absorbers. Both the units come with preload adjustability for a stable riding experience. The Bear 650, meanwhile, is equipped with 43mm USD telescopic front forks and dual-shock rear absorbers. Both the suspension systems look pretty identical on the paper, but the performance in real-world conditions could differ.
Both the bikes ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire spoke wheels. While the Bear 650 is offered with MRF NYLOREX-F tyres, the Scrambler 650 uses Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. In terms of braking, the Bear 650 boasts of 320mm ventilated front disc unit and 270mm rear disc unit whereas the Scrambler 650 comes with Brembo-sourced 320mm front disc and 255mm rear disc units.

At the heart, the Scrambler 650 houses a 650cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which develops maximum power of 44.4 bhp at 6500 rpm and highest torque of 55 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The Bear 650 is powered by the tried-and-trusted 648cc parallel-twin engine which belts out 46.7 bhp at 7150 rpm and 56.5 Nm at 5150 rpm while linked to a 6-speed gearbox. Needless to state, the Royal Enfield motorcycle is more powerful.
