Royal Enfield will expand the 450cc portfolio with the introduction of a new motorcycle in the form of the Scram 450
Royal Enfield has commenced working on the Scram 450, which is going to be its third motorcycle on the same platform as the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450. Internally codenamed as K2K, it is slated to go on sale in early 2027. Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be pitted against Triumph Scrambler 400 X/XC models in the Indian market as it will be positioned between the Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan 450. The higher GST of 40 percent on bikes with engine capacity above 350cc is likely to make things tougher for the upcoming RE Scrambler in terms of final pricing, which could be around Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
Despite being powered by the same 452cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled Sherpa engine, the Scram 450 will come with revised chassis and distinct design language. It has been learnt that the motorcycle will ride on a 19-inch front wheel as compared to the 21-inch unit seen on the Himalayan 450. However, the rear wheel is expected to be the same at 17-inch in order to offer decent saddle height.
Needless to state, Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be offered with dual-purpose tyres as standard. However, it is still unclear whether wire-spoke wheels will be available with tubeless tyres or not. It also remains to be seen if Royal Enfield rolls out alloy wheels as an option with the Scram 450. For the unversed, the Scram 440 can be availed with alloy wheels. The motorcycle will boast of switchable dual-channel ABS, riding modes and slip & assist clutch as standard features.

The suspension duties will be carried out by telescopic front forks (borrowed from the Himalayan 450) and monoshock rear absorber. The suspension travel details are not in public domain yet. While the Himalayan 450 comes with suspension travel of 200mm at both ends, the Guerrilla 450 has 140mm and 150mm for the front and rear units, respectively. We believe the upcoming Scram 450 to have a marginally lower suspension travel than the Himalayan 450.
It has come to out knowledge that Scram 450 will get a new scooped single-piece seat and tail section to maintain its individuality. The fuel tank will be identical to the Guerrilla 450. The body panels on the either side of the seat will flaunt a number in a similar fashion as the recently launched Triumph Tracker 400. The motorcycle will offer an upright riding position.

Some of the other notable elements likely to be onboard the Scram 450 are a tail beak, upswept and circular exhaust, and a traditional front mudguard. It will also come equipped with a round instrument cluster with TFT display, which will be sourced from the Bear 650 and the other two 450cc models. The riders will have access to turn-by-turn navigation through integrated Google Maps.
