Triumph Speed T4 Spotted with 350cc Engine, Launch in April 2026

The test unit of the Speed T4 clicked on camera remains identical to the ongoing model in terms of design, features and cycle parts

A few days back, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, confirmed the arrival of new Triumph motorcycles with a 350cc engine in April 2026 in the Indian market. Now, the Speed T4 has been captured on camera during its test runs while equipped with the downsized 350cc engine. However, the spotted unit looks identical to the ongoing model with 400cc engine as there are no changes in design and feature list. Triumph 400 line-up consists of five models namely Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, Scrambler 400 XC and Thruxton 400.

One more reason to believe that the spied motorcycle is indeed the upcoming Triumph 350cc bike is the lack of any noticeable cosmetic update. Hence, this makes it pretty obvious that the company will not test an existing model, unless it is fitted with a new engine. Therefore, it is quite clear that the test mule of the Speed T4 has the new 350cc engine.

In Sep 2025, the Union government of India rolled out GST 2.0 with significant changes to the tax slabs. While the GST on two-wheelers with engine capacity below 350cc was reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent, the tax on two-wheelers with engine capacity above 350cc was increased from 31 percent to 40 percent. This move by the government made the Triumph 400 bikes more expensive than before.

Earlier, all the two-wheelers attracted an uniform GST. However, with the overhaul in GST, the gap between two-wheeler with engine capacity below 350cc and above 350cc widened by around 22 percent. While it benefitted several brands who have presence in the entry-level motorcycle segment, it turned out to be disastrous for Triumph which does not have a single model with engine capacity below 350cc.

Hence, Triumph India decided to introduce its existing 400 motorcycle lineup with 350cc engine to attract lower tax benefits. The Triumph 350 range of bikes are likely to be cheaper by around Rs 20,000-25,000 than the ongoing 400cc models. With a lower pricing, the bikes will be more accessible to the buyers and give a tougher competition to its rival brands like Royal Enfield and Jawa/Yezdi.

It has been learnt that Triumph will initially launch the Speed T4 350, Speed 350 and Scrambler 350X while the Scrambler 350 XC and Thruxton 350 could be presented at a later stage. The 350 bikes will be sold alongside their 400 counterparts as Triumph is unlikely to discontinue the larger 400cc motorcycles post the introduction of smaller 350cc bikes.
