The Phantom Edition comes with a plethora of cosmetic and mechanical updates over the standard version of the Himalayan 450
The UK-based Cooperb Motorcycles has unveiled the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Phantom Edition with heavy upgrades to the suspension and fuel tank. The stock bike has been tailored according to the taste of the buyers with prices starting at £10,299 (Around Rs 13 lakh) while going as high as £12,000 (Around Rs 15 lakh) for a complete makeover. On the other hand, the standard version of the Himalayan 450 is priced between £5,750-6,400 (Around Rs 7-8 lakh) which is nearly half that of the Phantom edition.
First things first, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Phantom Edition comes with an improved rear suspension setup which offers preload adjustment and compression damping adjustment. The customers have the choice of selecting between Hagon or K-tech for the hardware as the latter also boasts of rebound tunability. The spring rate has been retuned to suit the weight of the rider and riding surface.
Cooperb Motorcycles has also installed a K-tech ProValve kit in the forks, but it costs a little extra. The open cartridge design has been carried over, albeit with new internal components such as control valves and needles for better damping control and a broader range of adjustment. All these custom elements have been installed for improved performance during off-roading.

At the heart, it has the same 452cc single cylinder liquid-cooled Sherpa engine which retains all its internal elements. However, the UK-based dealership has added a few extras for improved performance. A special mention goes to the full HP Corse exhaust which comes paired with a DNA induction kit and FuelX Pro Plus fuel programmer for laptop-free adjustment across 10 air-fuel settings.
The fuel tank capacity has been increased from 17 litres to 23 litres as the standard tank has been replaced by an Acerbis plastic unit. The saddle height has also been raised by 20 mm with the inclusion of a bench-style ‘Rally’ seat. While the base variant of the Phantom Edition rides on Royal Enfield’s tubeless spoked wheels, the buyers can also opt for ultra-strong lightweight SM Pro rims with 18-inch rear wheel.

The inclusion of wraparound handguards, engine case savers and fork tube guards sum up the list of upgrades made to the Himalayan 450. The Phantom Edition participated in Valleys X-Treme Lite race in South Wales where it emerged triumphant in the Big Bike Single class category while ridden by Jake Edey.
