Both the adventure motorcycles are being developed by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur production facility in Tamil Nadu
2026 is going to be a big year for adventure motorcycle aficionados as several new models will be launched in the coming 8-9 months in this segment in India. Two of the keenly-awaited names in the list are BMW F 450 GS and Norton Atlas GT and coincidentally both have been spied testing together on the Indian roads. Though both these ADV bikes have already been shown to the world at the EICMA 2025. The sighting of these adventure motorcycles alongside each other indicates that TVS Motor Company – the owner of Norton Motorcycles and BMW’s strategic partner in India – will soon commence their series production at its Hosur factory.
BMW F 450 GS Launch in India
Earlier this year, Hardeep Singh Brar, CEO of BMW Group India, stated that the brand’s all-new twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle will launch in the first half of 2026 in the country. Brar was referring to the F 450 GS as its local production commenced in Nov 2025 at TVS factory in Hosur. It is the first model based on the new 450 engine platform and several more bikes will be seen in the future on the same chassis.
BMW F 450 GS will lock horns with KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Kawasaki Versys-X 300. Several BMW dealers in metro cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi have even started taking unofficial bookings for the ADV bike at a token payment of Rs 50,000. Though nothing official from BMW, the dealers are hinting at deliveries from April 2026.

BMW F 450 GS comes loaded with a plethora of advanced features in the form of Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), ABS Pro, Ride Modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro) and 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music playback and answer/reject phone calls. Powered by a 420cc twin-cylinder water-cooled engine, it has max power of 47 bhp and peak torque of 43 Nm.
Norton Atlas GT Launch in India
Norton Motorcycles, the TVS-owned British brand, showcases four new models at the EICMA 2025 and the Atlas GT was one of them. It is likely to be the first Norton bike to be launched in India post the acquisition by TVS. The Atlas GT has been spotted testing earlier as well on the Indian roads with alloy wheels, which is the only major element that distinguishes it from the off-road specific Atlas. It is slated to go on sale in the next 2-3 months through TVS showrooms across India.

Sitting on a trellis frame, Norton Atlas GT will come with single-piece seat, dual exhaust pipes, 19-inch front and 17-inch wheels, 8-inch TFT screen, ride modes, lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, slide control, hill hold assist, wheelie control, launch control, USB-C charging port, cornering cruise control, heated seat and grips, and bidirectional quickshifter. Equipped with a 585cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine and 6-speed gearbox, it will generate power of around 70 bhp.
