TVS Apache RR 450 Design Patent Filed, Launch by 2026 End

The Tangent RR concept, showcased at the EICMA 2025 in Italy, previews the first twin-cylinder TVS motorcycle in the Indian market

Earlier this month, a fully-faired supersports bike was spotted testing with heavy camouflage on the Indian roads. The internet had divided opinion on it as some called it the BMW F 450 RR while a few voices termed it the TVS Apache RR 450 but nothing concrete could be figured out. Now, TVS has filed the design patent of the Tangent RR concept which had its global premiere at the EICMA 2025 in Italy. Hence, it is assumed that road testing of the first TVS 450 motorcycle has begun and it will be based on BMW’s F 450 GS platform.

The design patent shows that most of the styling elements and features have been retained from the concept version. The trademark images reveal an aggressive front fascia with sleek dual-LED headlamp setup, raked windscreen, clip-on handlebars, sculpted fuel tank and an under-seat exhaust pipe. We can also notice the side winglets which look peculiar.

TVS Apache RR 450 is likely to come with USD front forks and monoshock rear suspension. The braking duties could be handled by dual disc units at front and a single disc at rear. Equipped with a monocoque subframe, it will be presented as the brand’s new flagship motorcycle in the Indian market while sitting above the Apache RR 310 in TVS portfolio.

The feature list, in all likelihood, will be premium and upmarket with the likes of multiple ride modes, traction control, dual-channel ABS, all-digital instrument panel with TFT display and turn-by-turn navigation. TVS Apache RR 450 could tip the weighing scale at 175-180 kg. It would rival the likes of Aprilia RS 457 and Kawasaki Ninja 500 in the Indian market.

Needless to mention, TVS Apache RR 450 will be powered by the same twin-cylinder engine as the BMW F 450 GS. The 420cc liquid-cooled engine generates max power of 47 bhp at 8750 rpm and peak torque of 43 Nm at 6750 rpm with the F 450 GS. These figures are likely to remain the same with the Apache RR 450. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The filing of the design patent confirms that the Tangent RR concept will indeed go into production and we could see it on roads by the end of 2026. TVS-BMW partnership in India goes a long way back in time as both the brands had jointly rolled out several models earlier on a 310cc engine platform. Hence, it will be interesting to see how it goes with the 450 engine platform.
