The brand’s first-ever electric scooter in India is based on River Indie while manufactured by River Mobility at its factory in Bengaluru. Yamaha EC 06 was launched at a price point of Rs 1.68 lakh in the domestic market. On the other hand, Ola S1 Pro+ and TVS iQube ST are priced at Rs 1.56 lakh and Rs 1.63 lakh, respectively. Last but not the least, Suzuki e-Access can be purchased at a sticker price of Rs 1.88 lakh, making it the costliest model in the segment. All the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Interestingly, Yamaha EC 06 is nearly Rs 22,000 more expensive than River Indie (Rs 1.46 lakh), despite sharing the same chassis, cycle parts and battery pack. Hence, it is quite evident from the price data that it is neither cheap nor too expensive in its segment. However, Yamaha could have priced it more aggressively by bringing down the introductory price to around Rs 1.55-1.60 lakh.

Yamaha EC 06 Launch in India

Yamaha EC 06 is powered by a 4 kWh battery which is sourced from River Indie. It develops a peak power of 9 bhp. As for the Ola S1 Pro+, it is offered with 4 kWh and 5.2 kWh battery packs with top power of 17.4 bhp. The iQube ST is equipped with a 5.3 kWh battery which produces max power of 5.9 bhp. Lastly, Suzuki e-Access gets the smallest battery of 3 kWh capacity which generates the highest power of 5.5 bhp.

The EC 06 is claimed to return a range of 169 km on a single charge. Though it is on papers and we have to wait for the actual range figures in real-world conditions. The Ola S1 Pro+ offers the highest range of 242 km in the segment.

Suzuki e-Access India Launch

TVS iQube also provides a decent range of 212 km on a full charge. Suzuki e-Access disappoints with a relatively smaller range of 95 km despite being the highest priced model in the segment.
