Norton Atlas ADV Bike Spied Testing in India

The Atlas ADV bike will be launched in the coming months in the Indian market through TVS dealerships

Norton Motorcycles, the TVS-owned British two-wheeler brand, unveiled four new motorcycles at the EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy. The Altas ADV bike also had its global premiere at the event. Now, it has been spotted testing near the TVS factory in India for the first time. Norton Atlas is likely to launch in the second quarter of this year in the Indian market while challenging the likes of Kawasaki Versys-X 650, Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 750. It will be initially sold through TVS dealerships in the country.

Design-wise, Norton Atlas flaunts dual-projector LED headlamps with signature DRLs and cornering LED lights. The adventure motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with road-biased tyres, confirmed the spy images. Hence, it is safe to assume that the spied model is Atlas GT and not the Atlas as it comes with wire-spoke wheels and offroad specific tyres.

The main frame has been derived from the BMW F 450 GS platform which is suspended by adjustable USD front forks and monoshock rear absorbers with remote preload adjustability. Some of the notable design elements onboard the ADV bike are knuckle guards, upswept exhaust pipe, rear rack, puddle lamps, adjustable hand levers, foot levers and tapered handlebars.

Norton Atlas 585 will come loaded with a plethora of modern features in the form of Ride modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Off-road), lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, slide control, hill hold assist, wheelie control, launch control, remote preload adjuster, keyless ignition, USB-C charging port, cornering cruise control, heated seat and grips, and bidirectional quickshifter. A special mention goes to the 8-inch TFT screen which is borrowed from the bigger Manx bikes.

The spy pics confirm the inclusion of twin disc brakes at front and single disc at rear. Since this is the GT version, it could have a saddle height of around 800 mm, which is lower than the standard Atlas. It will take a few months for Norton to set up its own distribution network in India and hence, till that time the Atlas ADV bike will be retailed through TVS showrooms.

At the heart, Norton Atlas packs the 585cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled petrol engine which could generate power output around 70 bhp. The company has claimed that the ADV bike will have the widest torque spread in the segment. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Norton has not revealed the exact weight of the bike yet. However, it is likely to tip the weighing scale between 200-210 kg.
