TVS Pips Hero and Honda, Leading Two-Wheeler Brand in Dec 2025

TVS outnumbered Hero and Honda in overall sales (domestic + exports) by retailing a total of 4,61,071 units in Dec 2025

TVS Motor Company has emerged as India’s numero-uno two-wheeler brand in overall sales (domestic + export) in Dec 2025 by leaving behind the heavyweights like Hero MotoCorp and Honda. It registered total sales of 4,61,071 units last month with domestic volumes and export numbers at 3,30,362 units and 1,30,709 units, respectively. While Hero MotoCorp dominated the domestic market with 4,19,243 units, Bajaj Auto was the leader in exports as it shipped a total of 1,78,125 units from India to various global markets.

TVS posted a sensational YoY growth of more than 47 percent in overall sales last month as it had managed to sell only 3,12,002 units in Dec 2024. Though, the MoM sales witnessed a drop by around 7 percent as the company had retailed 4,97,841 units in Nov 2025. It outnumbered Hero and Honda by quite a thin margin in Dec 2025 as the total sales volumes (domestic + export) of both these brands stood at 4,56,479 units and 4,46,048 units, respectively.

Talking about Dec 2025 domestic sales, Hero MotoCorp took the pole position with 4,19,243 units. It was followed by Honda with volumes of 3,92,306 units while TVS bagged the third position with 3,30,362 units. Bajaj, Suzuki and Royal Enfield captured the fourth, fifth, and sixth spots, respectively, with sales of 1,32,228 units, 97,823 units, and 93,177 units.

TVS benefitted from dipping MoM sales of Hero and Honda in the domestic market. Both these brands posted a MoM de-growth of 26 percent in Dec 2025 as they had managed to sell over 5 lakh units in Nov 2025. Bajaj’s MoM sales also fell by around 35 percent as it had retailed over 2 lakh units in Nov 2025 but last month, it could only sell 1,32,228 units. Only Suzuki and Royal Enfield recorded positive MoM growth in Dec 2025 sales in the domestic market.

Coming to the exports, Bajaj Auto topped the charts with YoY growth of 24 percent as it shipped 1,78,125 units in Dec 2025 as compared to 1,43,838 units in Dec 2024. TVS occupied the second spot with 1,30,709 units last month against the 96,927 units exported in Dec 2024. It registered YoY growth of close to 35 percent as global demand for TVS two-wheelers increased.

As far as the EV business is concerned, TVS and Bajaj were neck-to-neck in competition last month. However, TVS eventually emerged triumphant with a margin of a few hundred units in Dec 2025. It registered a YoY growth of 77 percent with sales increasing from 20,171 units in December 2024 to 35,605 units in December 2025.
