BMW Group India CEO Hardeep Singh Brar confirmed the launch of the upcoming entry-level twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle in the coming months in India
Recently, BMW Motorrad announced its yearly sales results for CY25 in the Indian market. On the sidelines, Hardeep Singh Brar, Group CEO & President, BMW India, stated that the new twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle will go on sale in the first half of 2026 in India. Yes, Brar was referring to the F 450 GS which has been waiting to launch in the country for quite some time now. BMW F 450 GS had its world premiere at the EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy. Even the local production of the ADV bike had commenced a couple of months back at TVS factory in Hosur.
Several BMW Motorrad dealers in various major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru have even started accepting unofficial bookings for the F 450 GS at a token payment of Rs 50,000. The dealers claim that deliveries are likely to start from March 2026 onwards. The twin-cylinder ADV bike will directly rival KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Kawasaki Versys-X 300.
BMW F 450 GS rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels which are shod with 100/90-19 front & 130/80-17 rear tubeless tyres. Though the customers are also given the option of choosing cross-spoke wheels. It flaunts LED headlamp with “X” daytime riding light upfront while the primary highlight of the sleek tail section is the upswept stainless steel exhaust pipe.

Some of the notable bells and whistles onboard the F 450 GS are Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), ABS Pro, Ride Modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro) and 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music playback and answer/reject phone calls.
The suspension duties are helmed by KYB-sourced USD telescopic front forks and double-sided rear swing arm with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. The stopping power comes from disc units at both the ends. The F 450 GS comes with a standard saddle height of 845 mm. However, riders are given an option of a lower seat with height of 830 mm.

At the heart, the F 450 GS has the 420cc twin-cylinder water-cooled petrol engine which pumps out 47 bhp at 8750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6750 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission. The ADV bike can clock a top speed of 165 kmph. BMW F 450 GS price is likely to start at Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
