The high-performance scooter segment is slowly gaining popularity in the Indian market. Though the performance-oriented scooters have received acceptance in other Asian markets such as Thailand and Indonesia, it might take some time for them to get similar response from the buyers in India. Nevertheless, several leading auto brands such as Hero, TVS and Yamaha have their presence in the 150cc scooter segment. In this piece, we will discuss in detail about the best high-performance scooters that you can consider buying this Diwali festive season.
1. TVS Ntorq 150
Launched on Sep 4 in India, TVS Ntorq 150 is presently the most economical 150cc scooter in India as it comes in two variants namely Standard and TFT at price points of Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.18 lakh, respectively. Both the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Ntorq 150 is presented with 22 first-in-class features as it happens to be the most powerful TVS scooter till date.
Some of the notable features onboard the high-performance scooter are projector headlamp, adjustable brake levers, ABS, 5-inch TFT instrument console, switchable traction control, ride modes (Race & Street), hazard lamps, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, Smartwatch integration and Alexa connectivity. It is powered by a 149.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which develops 13 bhp and 14.2 Nm. The Ntroq 150 has a 0-60 kmph sprint time of 6.3 secs with top speed of 104 kmph.
2. Hero Xoom 160
This is the third scooter with ‘Xoom’ nameplate on sale in India after the Xoom 110 and Xoom 125. Available in a single fully-loaded ZX variant, Hero Xoom 160 is priced at Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom). Though it was launched at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January, the sales and deliveries commenced last month only. Hero Xoom 160 is sold exclusively through the Premia dealerships in the Indian market.
The 160cc high-performance scooter comes with several modern features such as 14-inch wheels with block pattern tyres, smart key with remote seat access, dual-chamber LED headlamp, Front disc brake with ABS, and Bluetooth-enabled digital speedometer with turn-by-turn navigation. At the heart, it has a 156cc liquid-cooled engine with top power of 14.6 bhp and highest torque of 14 Nm. The Xoom 160 also boasts of Hero’s i3s silent start system.
3. Yamaha Aerox 155
The Aerox 155 is the oldest high-performance scooter on sale in India. It is offered across two variants namely Standard and S at price points of Rs 1.38 lakh and Rs 1.41 lakh, respectively. Both the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, Delhi. The maxi-styled high-performance scooter is sold only via Yamaha’s Blue Square Showrooms across the country.
The Aerox 155 S is packed with some of the most advanced features such as smart key with answer back function, traction control system, keyless ignition, ABS, twin LED headlamp setup, USB charging slot and last parking location. It is equipped with a 155cc liquid-cooled engine which generates max power of 14.75 Nm and peak torque of 13.9 Nm. Yamaha Aerox 155 range is available in three colours namely Ice Fluo Vermillion, Racing Blue and Metallic Black.
4. Aprilia XSR 160
The SXR 160 is one of the most capable high-performance scooters in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is available in four colour schemes namely Power Red, Enigma Black, Essence White and Vibrant Blue. The maxi-scooter comes with a carbon-look finish on the handlebar which is complimented well by attractive graphics on both the sides.
The bells and whistles onboard include fully digital LCD display with trip duration and air temperature, USB charging socket, all-LED lighting, 220 mm front disc brake with ABS, adjustable rear shock absorber, 12-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and 775 mm saddle height. Aprilia XSR 160 is powered by a 160.03cc 3V i-get engine which belts out 10.9 bhp and 12.1 Nm. It accelerates to 60 kmph from standstill in merely 7.5 secs.
