TVS Motor Company launched the all-new Orbiter scooter last month in the Indian market at a sticker price of Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom). The online bookings for the e-scooter began on Aug 28 at a token payment of Rs 5,001 on the company website. TVS Orbiter has been rolled out as the brand’s entry-level mass-market electric scooter as it has been positioned below the iQube while taking on the likes of Ola S1 X, Hero Vida VX2 and Bajaj Chetak 3001. 1. TVS Orbiter Dimensions
The Orbiter measures 1855 mm in length, 728 mm in width and 1284 mm in height. The saddle height is pegged at 763 mm while the ground clearance stands at 165 mm. The single-piece flat-form seat is 845 mm long while the straight-line footboard measures 290 mm in length. It has an underseat storage capacity of 34 litres. Hence, it can be said that the dimensions are rather well proportioned.
2. TVS Orbiter Delivery Start Date
While initiating the online booking on TVS website, it shows an expected delivery time of 2 weeks for Bangalore. However, if you are a resident of other major metropoltian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh among others, then it is going to take much longer for the deliveries to start as the website doesn’t tell a specific timeline, unlike Bengaluru.
3. TVS Orbiter Colours and Design
TVS Orbiter will be available to buyers in six paint options namely Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. Sitting on a steel tube frame, it rides on 14-inch alloy wheels which are shod with 90/80-14 46P front and 90/90-12 54J rear tyres. It flaunts a Crystal LED headlamp upfront while at the rear, there is a LED tail-lamp cluster with turn indicators.
4. TVS Orbiter Features
The Orbiter electric scooter comes with a coloured LCD instrument cluster with an array of features in the form of OTA updates, Bluetooth connectivity, Turn-by-turn navigation, Incoming call display on screen, Distance to empty, and A & B Trip reset. In addition, the riders can also access multiple features through the Mobile app which includes Geofencing, Crash alerts, Use & pay for public charging, Live location of scooter, Emergency contacts, Anti Theft notification and Call customer care.
5. TVS Orbiter Battery and Range
The Orbiter is powered by an IP67 rated 3.1 kWh battery pack which is claimed to return a range of 158 km on a single charge. Tipping the weighing scale at 112 kg, it is offered with a 2.5 kW BLDC electric motor which propels it to do the 0-40 kmph sprint in 6.8 seconds. The electric scooter is offered with a 650W charger and it takes 4 hours and 10 mins for a 0-80 percent charge. There are two ride modes available in the form of Eco and City, while Reverse mode is also there.
