3 Upcoming Royal Enfield Electric Bikes in India

Royal Enfield will have a full-fledged portfolio of electric motorcycles in the coming years, including cruisers, ADV bikes and Scramblers.

Royal Enfield is globally renowned for making some of the finest cruiser and adventure motorcycles in the middleweight (350-650cc) segment. While the 350cc and 450cc bikes are offered with a single-cylinder engine, the 650cc motorcycles are equipped with a twin-cylinder engine. However, this time around, the brand is trying something very different, something that it has not done so far in its revered heritage of over 100 years. Yes, you read it right. Royal Enfield is foraying into the electric motorcycle segment with not one, not two but three all-new models. In this piece, we will talk about the 3 upcoming Royal Enfield electric bikes in India.

1. Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Royal Enfield debuted the Flying Flea electric sub-brand at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. The C6 will be the brand’s first-ever electric bike globally as it goes on sale by late 2025. Recently, the Flying Flea C6 was on a multi-city tour in India as it was showcased to motorcycle aficionados in Bengaluru, Delhi and Gurgaon.

Royal Enfield has begun the cold-weather high-altitude testing of the upcoming electric bike in Ladakh. Some of the prominent features in the Flying Flea C6 will include Girder fork front suspension, detachable pillion seat, 19-inch alloy wheels, front & rear disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, and fully coloured digital touchscreen instrument cluster with OTA updates. Based on the newly-developed L platform, Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 will flaunt a neo-retro look with urban touch.

2. Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6: The Flying Flea S6 is a scrambler styled electric motorcycle which was unveiled alongside the C6 at the Milan Motor Show 2024 in November. It will be the second electric motorcycle from Royal Enfield as it goes on sale by mid 2026 in the Indian market. The S6 will ride on wire-spoke wheels with off-road tyres. In addition, it will boast of a raised front fender and USD front suspension, as revealed in the spy pics clicked in Ladakh.

The Flying Flea S6 will feature a split-seat setup with a fixed pillion seat. Though technical specs are not known yet, it is likely to share the battery and electric motor with the C6. Royal Enfield stated that both the bikes will get a fixed battery pack with fast charging compatibility. The range is not revealed yet, but we expect it to return around 200-220 km on a single charge.

3. Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric: Royal Enfield unveiled the HIM-E electric off-roader concept at the 2023 EICMA in Italy. Just a few days back, the HIM-E, fondly addressed as Himalayan Electric, was spotted in production-ready guise in Ladakh. It was sitting on an all-aluminium frame and subframe while the traditional tubular trellis unit was not there. Some of the prominent elements visible in the spy images are a single-piece seat, tall windscreen, all-LED projector headlamp, disc brakes with Nissan calipers and fully adjustable USD front suspension. We believe the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric to reach dealerships by the end of 2026.
