Ola Electric was supposed to initiate the deliveries for the Roadster X from mid March but even after two months, it has not delivered a single unit of the electric motorcycle to the buyers.
Ola Electric launched the Roadster X electric motorcycle on Feb 5, 2024 in the Indian market. The first deliveries were promised from mid March onwards across the country. However, they were later postponed till April by the company due to reasons best known to the brand. The Bengaluru-based EV start up has once again delayed the deliveries of the Roadster X to mid May, according to the stock exchange filing. This is something not very new for Ola as it previously too had to face the wrath of buyers due to delay in the delivery of electric scooters.
Ola Roadster X is introduced with three battery pack options namely 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 4.5 kWh at price points of Rs 74,999, Rs 84,999 and Rs 94,999, respectively. The entry-level variant with 2.5 kWh battery returns a range of 140 km while the mid-spec trim with 3.5 kWh battery delivers 196 km on a single charge, followed by the top-end 4.5 kWh grade which is claimed to have a 252 km range.

Ola Roadster X is available in five paint choices namely Industrial Silver, Anthracite, Stellar blue, Pine green and Ceramic White. It boasts of three ride modes in the form of Sports, Normal and Eco. Offered with the latest MoveOS 5, it gets a 4.3-inch LCD colour instrument cluster with smart connectivity and USB. Ola has equipped the electric motorcycle with a single-channel ABS alongside the first-in-segment brake-by-wire technology as standard.
All the three variants of the Roadster X come with a 7kW mid-drive motor. While the 2.5 kWh variant does the 0-40 kmph sprint in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 105 kmph, the 3.5 kWh and 4.5 kWh variants touch the 40 kmph mark from standstill in just 3.1 seconds before topping out at 118 kmph. Sitting on a double cradle frame, it also carries modern features like advanced regeneration, cruise control, and reverse mode.

The battery pack used in the Roadster X has received an IP67 certification which makes it waterproof and dust-proof. The electric bike also packs a serviceable Battery Management System (BMS) for easier maintenance and hassle-free ownership. The electric bike comes with a warranty of 3 years/50,000 km as standard. Ola Roadster X challenges the likes of Oben Rorr, Revolt RV400, and Matter Aera in the Indian market.
Meanwhile, in other news, Ola Electric is not having the best of times presently in the Indian market. Its market share has come down from 52 percent (Apr 2024) to 22 percent (Apr 2025) in the electric scooter segment with legacy players such as TVS and Bajaj eating a major chunk of the pie. However, with the Roadster X, Ola hopes to reclaim its market share by up to some extent.
